Monkey's

Monkey's are endangered animals they live in many different places and come in many different sizes and forms. Some Monkey's have upturned noses which collects the rain and so they look very funny. Some are the size of thumbs as the picture shows.

PANDA'S

Giant Pandas eat many things but their fave food is BAMBOO!!!!! They chew tons of the stuff per day. They are quite lazy and do not like mating. Which is problematical. You can find Panda's in China. You can help the Panda's by adopt them for 3 pounds a month at WWF.

Penguins

There are 16 different kinds of penguin. All live in the Southern hemisphere. Penguins cannot fly but they are expert swimmers and divers. They can speed along in the water after squid and fish using their flipper shaped wings. The Emperor Penguin has a bright orange beard around its neck. To escape the leopard seal it dives out of the water at a great speed. It breeds in the coldest placed on earth, on Antarctic ice where the temperature is -20 degrees C (-4 F) and after the female has laid an egg, the male keeps it warm between his feet and tummy for about 60 days. The new born chicks stay warm by standing on their parents feet.

Polar Bears

The huge Polar Bear is covered in thick water repelling fur, except for its foot pad and the tip of its nose. Polar bears have an excellent sense of smell for locating prey. They can bound across the ice at a great speed. An adult Polar Bear weighs about half a tonne, and is so strong that it can kill a person with one swipe of its paw.

Between 25,000 and 40,000 Polar Bears roam the Arctic. Their white coats provide perfect camouflage and a 10cm (4") layer of body fat keeps them warm. Bears gorge on seals from April to July, they can survive for eight months without food. They can swim as far as 150km (93 miles) in search of prey.

Hello Animal Lovers

Guess what I want for my birthday? Yep, that's right, a polar bear. Well, not a real one in my garden even though it is cold enough at the moment. I want to adopt a polar bear. What do you reckon?
